The Rumplteeza Dynasty
If you have or are planning to have a Rumplteeza cat then chances are that some of these very special cats are in their ancestry.
I felt it really important to pay tribute to these special cats who have shared at least part their lives with me and helped build Rumplteeza Maine Coons to what it is today. It is equally important to sincerely thank those breeders who have entrusted me with some of their special cats.
Finally to those wonderful people who have opened up their hearts and homes to adopt some of these cats as they were retired from my breeding program, I thank you wholeheartedly for being willing to take on these older kids of mine and cherish and provide for them for the remainder of their lives.

PN Coonhaven Enchantment
Coonhaven Enchantment (Chanti) joined us in May 2003 and was to be our first breeding girl. She had other ideas however... but remains with us, beloved and the undisputed Queen of the Household. Thank you to Vicki of Coonhaven Maine Coons for entrusting us with this wonderful girl.
As a kitten, Chanti did very well winning Best Kitten at her last two kitten shows. She never really enjoyed the showscene and as an adult simply decided she was not going to go anymore! Once she was speyed Chanti became such a loving and much calmer cat. For my daughter's sake we decided to try showing her one more time. It was 4 four ring show, a BIG ask for a girl that had hated showing AND she needed a challenge certificate in ALL four rings to gain a title. Well she did it!!! She even went on to win Best of Breed and Best Neuter in one of the rings!!! We are so thrilled with our Champion girl. Chanti tested clear for HD, HCM and PKD in 2004. |
Gd Ch. Rumtumtugger Xavier (Imp UK)
|
Tragically I was not able to fulfill my promise. Xavier was struck down with an illness that took him despite the best efforts of my wonderful vet.
He was only 18mths old. Compounding my grief was that Xavier died before he had sired a litter for me. |
Dbl Gd Ch. Coonhaven Jive Bunny
The one and only Bun Bun,The Bunster,
Bunny was bred by my good friend Vicki of Coonhaven Maine Coons and what a fantastic girl she was for us! A lovely typey girl, with a stunning classic tabby pattern and a fabulous show temperament. Her kittens were consistently beautiful examples of their breed. |
We would have loved Bun to stay on here with us forever. She was the original "It" girl for my husband. They had special water games they would play in the bathroom. Sadly Bunny became a bit dominant with the younger girls so we made the hard decision to rehome her.
In a perfect ending Bunny went to live with an amazing couple in Perth. Bun Bun is spoilt thoroughly and has the best of love and care. |
Ch. Coolcoons Iceland Poppy
This amazingly stunning, typey Solid Black Tortie girl was bred by Fiona Cooper of Coolcoons cattery. Poppy went on to be my foundation Queen and so many of my cats can trace their ancestry to this wonderful girl.
As a new breeder I probably didn't appreciate just how special she was back then but I certainly do now! She was a loving girl with plenty of Tortitude and had the most enormous litters. Because of this I did retire her young and she went off to live in Tasmania. The last I heard she was being a lovely companion for her new mum but I have lost contact with her which is sad. I hope that she is well and happy. |
After unsuccessfully trying to integrate him with our housecats I found a wonderful forever home for Milagro with Lesley who fell under his spell whilst visiting her future kittens. He now lives the happiest of lives with his granddaughter, grandson and great grandson.
SAD UPDATE: Our beautiful Milagro passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on the 11th of December 2017. He was 12 and a half years old. Both his mum and myself are heartbroken our boy is gone. |
Gd Ch. Rumtumtugger Milagro (Imp UK)
What can I say about this boy?
The amazing Mary and Mitch of Rumtumtugger Maine Coons shared my grief at the loss of Xavier and when the time came to replace him they sent me not only Milagro but his sister Miah as well! (See below). Milagro is Spanish for "miracle" and this is what this lovely "green eyed prince" was to me. He has incredible boning, a perfect profile and chin. He is one ball of pure muscle. He has a lovely affectionate nature but is quite a shy boy with strangers. He sired many kittens while he was with us and no matter who the mother they were consistently nice kittens. I kept Rumplteeza Neelix, his handsome son with Poppy to continue his lineage and eventually retired Milagro from Stud Duties when he was 5yrs old. |
Ch. Rumtumtugger Miah Merri (Imp UK)
Miss Miah is Milagro's litter sister and was a very special gift from Mary and Mitch from Rumtumtugger Maine Coons in the UK. I had longed for a Blue Tortie girl and I was so thrilled she was to be mine.
|
Miah and Milagro spent their time in Australian Quarantine at the NSW Quarantine Station and I am very grateful to a good friend who visited them both until they could join me in Victoria. Miah completely won the heart of my friend's young son and so the promise was made that when Miah had made some nice babies for me she would spend her retirement years as his special girl. As you can see from these photos her retirement is pretty chilled! She has grown delightfully fat and is completely spoilt.
|
Ezri also has the special honour of being my first Retiree to leave and lives happily with Doug and his wife.
I still get updates to this day which is just lovely! Good grief, just look at those CURLS!!! My show grooming has improved somewhat over the years... |
Ch. Rumplteeza Ezri
Ezri is Poppy's daughter from her very first litter, (The very first Rumplteeza Litter!)
She was a lovely natured Brown Mackerel Tabby girl who stayed on to have one litter of 4 daughters before I spayed her. Ezri was the very first Rumplteeza Champion, such a proud moment for me. |
Gd Ch. Rumplteeza Captain SiskoMy very first Rumplteeza litter, my favourite colour and well he was just so darn cute!!!
Poppy's son and Ezri's brother, Sisko stayed on briefly and sired one litter for me. He proved to be a very fussy lad about girls and really only liked Brown Tabby women. He detested Torties passionately and let them and me know his displeasure in a very emphatic manner! He was a lovely boy who went off to live with his litter brother and sister Odo and Jadzia once he was neutered. He, Odo and Jadzia (Jade) are all doing well from my last update. |
Rumplteeza Forget Me Not
Miss Panda Bear - What a delightfully quirky girl!
Panda is Ezri's daughter and was the very first solid born at Rumplteeza. She was such a delightful surprise! Panda constantly amused us with her funny ways and she loved my husband. The bathroom and particulary our bathmat were her favourite things. She would get all lovey dovey with us on the bathmat, chirruping sweetly and demanding belly rubs. Panda Bear only had one litter with us. In hindsight I probably spayed her too early but she had a lovely young couple who had fallen in love with her when they came to adopt her son so I decided to send her off to be a loved pet. She lives happily with them in Canberra with her son Earl. |
Dbl Gd Ch Rumplteeza Neelix
Neelix was a wonderful stud boy for me and is such a sweet boy. He had a great show career and is in most of my pedigrees today.
Neelix is a highly intelligent cat who needed attention and so he had a live in spayed girlfriend to whom he was devoted. Despite company he was an unhappy stud who would pace in his run so as soon as I could I desexed him and sent him off to a pet home happily with his beloved Lucy. |
Tristone Charm 'N' Chance
Charm was bred by my friend Jann Merchant from very special lines.
A massive, huge girl with a quirky personality Charm was larger than life. She had 2 litters for me, her first one a bit of a disaster but we had 4 very special survivors. She proved herself to be a good mum and she had the prettiest kittens. She became a little bit dominant with the other housecats and I felt it best to send her off to be a loved pet. I was planning on keeping a gorgeous boy from her 2nd litter who really was extremely nice and a huge youngster at 6 months before I had a stupid moment of brain fade and sent him off to a pet home when a kitten visitor took a fancy to him. I honestly don't know what I was thinking! I often have the "what if's" about Charm and her son but what's done is done. |
Rosie's descendents are among my best show cats today. She gave size, lovely boning and delightful temperaments to my breeding program.
I would have loved to have kept Rosie on forever but you just can't keep them all sadly. |
Ch. Rumplteeza Ombre Rose
My Rosie Rose - how I miss this girl!
Rosie was a very large and quirky Brown Mackerel Tortie Tabby and White girl. She was from a once off outside mating of Markita and CCCA Gd Ch/Gold Ch/Ch. Ruffnix Kit Teacoons Merlin (Hons) (Imp UK). She is the litter sister to my beloved Neuter Azzaro and to the 2007 Group 1 Kitten of the Year Rumplteeza Aspen.. Around the time I began breeding Maine Coons the Gene Test for the one discovered (to date) HCM causing gene in Maine Coons had been developed and most ethical breeders were testing their cats and actively working on eliminating this gene from their Breeding Program. Most of us tried to be sensible and breed our way out of it without sacrificing valuable pedigree lines. Rosie carried one copy of the gene. Although her chances of developing HCM because of this particular gene were relatively small, she only had one litter for me and I kept a totally negative daughter (Rumplteeza Lady In Red) to continue on with. Rosie went off to live with a lovely lady and another Maine Coon kitten from another breeder that she could play mother to and my last update was that she was such a joy to her owner. This I can totally understand. Love you Rosie Rose!

D.O.B. 15/11/2013
Sire: Diamantina Benedict
Dam: Rumplteeza Mirror Image

With great affection this lovely girl is nicknamed "Miss BU"... Don't ask!
She was not a pretty kitten but there was just something about her. She was large, strong and had lovely boning. I took a chance on her and she has now lived up to her pedigree name. She is pretty!
Miss BU has a gorgeous temperament, very loving and is a wonderful mum.
BU is DNA Neg for the MyBPC3 award and was heart screened HCM Clear by echocardiagram on the 6th October 2015.
UPDATE: 27th December, 2015 - Our gorgeous girl decided she was not going to have anymore babies so she went off to her new family who had been waiting sooooo patiently for over a year to welcome her. Her new name is Maeby and she is enjoying being a spoilt house girl and loving bed cat.

Rumplteeza Dakota Grace
(Black Classic Tabby)
D.O.B. 20/10/2014
Sire: Ch. Coonflakes Boomerang (IMP UK)
Dam: Ch. Coolcoons Alabaster Girl
In breeding you win some and you lose some. Unfortunately Dakota suffered from a uterine infection as some young females are prone and although she received the correct treatment and is in excellent health otherwise, she has failed to conceive. I am so disappointed, I just know she would have had some very promising kittens. Dakota Grace is a lovely example of the breed, a very large youngster with great substance and length with great ears, good length of muzzle and an excellent tail. Dakota found the perfect home with people who spend lots of time helping her feel safe and loved. Dakota is DNA Neg for the MyBPC3 Gene and was heart screened HCM Clear by echocardiagram on the 6th of October 2015. |
