Welcome to Rumplteeza Maine Coons!
My name is Kyra Foster and I am the caretaker of the Rumplteeza Cats.
August 24th, 2002 was the day when we brought home our precious Coonhaven Dreamweaver (Oliver) after a 10 month long wait, it really was like being pregnant!
Ollie was and always will be the feline love of our lives and the family's heartfelt thanks go to his breeder Vicki Edwards of Coonhaven Maine Coons for this wonderful boy.
Oliver was everything we had hoped for and he gave us a wonderful introduction to the world of Cat Showing having tremendous success. He held an impressive title of CCCA Ch/Gold Premier Neuter and won GCCFV Group 1 Neuter of the Year in 2003.
Tragedy struck us when our beautiful boy was diagnosed with inoperable Cancer in late May 2011. We had 3 very precious days at home with him before it was time to say goodbye. I would like to thank the wonderful staff at Chirnside Park Veterinary Clinic for everything they did to make Ollie comfortable as we took those 3 days and prepared ourselves to say goodbye and for making that goodbye as dignified and gentle as it was.
Well as Coonie fans say, Maine Coons are addictive and it wasn't long after Oliver's arrival in our family before I had my heart set on filling our home with more of these beautiful, big cats.
Coonhaven Enchantment (Chanti) joined us in May 2003 and was to be our first breeding girl. She had other ideas however... but remains with us, beloved and the undisputed Queen of the Household.
Enormous thanks to my mentor Vicki of Coonhaven Maine Coons for entrusting me with so many of her cats and helping me take the first steps towards my dream. Thanks my friend for being a shoulder to cry on when everything that could go horribly wrong for a new breeder... did. With Vicki's help we set about importing my first Stud Boy. I still can't believe my luck in finding Mary Stuart of Rumtumtugger Maine Coons in the UK. Mary you are a Champion!
My aim is to breed healthy, large and typey cats with delightful temperaments. All my breeding cats are DNA Neg for the MyBPC3 Gene that is a known cause of HCM and each cat has its heart scanned by ultrasound by a Board Certified Cardiologist before its breeding career begins. We have also recently begun Hip Scoring by x-ray with the UMCFA Health Program.
It is with some pride that I can say that most Rumplteeza kittens now have a pedigree of tested ancestry for at least 4 generations.
